At peak times in real life, Dublin airport handles a departure or arrival every 45 seconds. This doesn't happen easily. Pilots must be fully ready for departure at the holding point, and when cleared to line up and depart, do so with no delay, whilst looking down the endless stream of strobes on approach. The runway operations at Dublin will be intense, challenging, and great fun for everyone. Pilots will have the chance to pick any airport around the globe to begin their journey into Dublin from, be it early Friday morning from America's East-coast, or a few hops to neighbouring Europe - the choice of airport is up to you. One thing is certain; on your arrival or departure from Dublin, you'll be welcomed by our friendly and professional ATC to kick-start your Saint Patrick's Day celebrations! London Gatwick and Dublin citypair

On Saturday, November the 25th, VATeir and VATSIM UK will be packing the airspace above Ireland and the UK to capacity as aircraft make their way between Gatwick and Dublin, from 1830z until 2130z. Both airports are renowned for their very intense single runway operations, with Gatwick being the busiest single runway airport in the world, and Dublin close behind. There will be plenty of late landing clearances and expeditious takeoff clearances to go around(!!). The length of the event gives pilots plenty of time to fly over and back between the two airports, with full ATC along the way for what will be a fantastic event.

On Saturday, 9th of July, VATéir, in conjunction with VATFRANCE and the Dutch VACC will be hosting the Dublin EuroShuttle. This event will give pilots an opportunity to fly into and out of some of Europe's busiest airports. Pilots will have the chance to fly between Dublin (EIDW) and Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (EHAM), or Dublin and Paris Ch. de Gaulle (LFPG), all whilst packing Europe's northern airways to capacity.

Every pilot that flies into Dublin from Schiphol or Paris will be entered into a draw to win a copy of Aerosoft's Mega Airport Dublin. The event runs from 17:30 till 20:30 UTC. The controllers of the Irish vACC welcome you to fly for the Dublin Overload 2014 (EIDW). You can expect a full service between 1700z and 2200z on Saturday 27th December and is a great excuse to escape from the family after Christmas and do some flying! We have scheduled five hours of ATC services to allow you to fly 'there and back' on one of the many short haul destinations from Dublin, or relax on your Long Haul inbound flight safe in the knowledge that you are definately going to arrive in time.

There are no slots. Just fly in and out at your leisure.

Payware scenery is available from Aerosoft and Eiresim. Freeware scenery is available in the AVSIM library.

Our next edition of our Iceland featured shuttle event will be the 23rd August from 15-21z. This time Vatsim-Scandinavia have invited VATEIR and Dublin to participate along with one of our own airfields Helsinki-Vantaa. So you can expect great ATC coverage along your way to Iceland from one of our featured airports, make sure you attend at this scenic and exciting event.

All flights to/from Iceland are being subject to oceanic clearances/procedures, therefore we would highly recommend that you are familiar with oceanic procedures.
